Klaus Trophobie · Local Guide Mai 2025

„I have been a regular at this café for a few years now. The staff always makes me feel welcome. Especially the cakes are good — I can't wait for my next trip to Berlin!"
Tiger „TigersEye" Okt 2025
„Lovely, cosy, calm vibe — with lots of lovely cats 🐈. Friendly, kind crew. It was my best 2 hours in any café 😻. Please respect cats' peace ✌️."
Ayhan D. · Local Guide Nov 2025
„Really nice staff and the cakes and coffee choices are very good. I like the idea that tables are reserved so it keeps the café not so busy. We took our kids and they loved it."

Sabrina L. · Local Guide Jan 2026
„I absolutely love this café. I really appreciate that the cats can feel safe here — no one can disturb them without reason. This shows that the owner takes great care of them. The desserts and coffee are delicious."
Veronika B. Mai 2025
MrHansieee · Local Guide Jun 2025
Traveler Akito · Local Guide Jun 2025

Frequently asked.

Answers to everything our guests want to know before they visit — from house rules and adoption to cat hairs on your cake.

01 Why should I make a reservation?
+
We only have 7 tables. On cold days, school holidays or with bigger groups it fills up fast. Reserving helps us keep the atmosphere calm for the cats — it's not mandatory.
02 Why are children only welcome from age 10?
+
Younger children need a lot of guidance from us — time we often don't have. The cats are also sensitive to quick movements and loud sounds.
03 When are the cats most active?
+
Our cats run on their own clock. In the afternoon they're usually in a deep nap — and we respect that.
04 Why can't I touch a sleeping cat?
+
In deep sleep a cat reads any touch as a stress signal. We watch over their rest — the city vet inspects this unannounced and regularly. Imagine someone stroking you during your afternoon nap.
05 Why are the house rules so strict?
+
A cat café has clear requirements from the city's veterinary office — all designed for stress-free, species-appropriate living. Some of our former street cats were once injured and don't enjoy certain kinds of touch. Please read their stories before you stroke them.
06 Why aren't all the cats always around?
+
The cats have a private retreat and rest area in the back. They decide themselves whether to be among guests or take a break — that's what animal welfare law calls for, and what we want, too.
07 Can I bring my own cat?
+
Sadly no. Our cats would see another cat as an intruder in their territory — stress for yours, stress for ours.
08 Can I bring my dog?
+
Dogs aren't welcome in the cats' territory either — even if they're cat-friendly, ours are skeptical. Please leave them outside.
09 Why are tables assigned to us?
+
We have tables of different sizes and seat people strategically — that way couples, families and groups all find space.
10 Do the cats get along with each other?
+
Yes. Our crew is a well-bonded family — most of them have known each other since kittenhood.
11 Why only French-press coffee?
+
Because it's prepared quietly, more sustainable, and tastes excellent. You can get a cappuccino anywhere.
12 Why can't I enter the rest area?
+
The rest area is staff-only. A stranger would be an intruder for the cats — and this is exactly the space where they should find peace.
13 Where is the litter box?
+
In the rest area — that's what the city requires. Personal business needs privacy, for cats just like for people.
14 Are the cats alone at night?
+
They're never truly alone — the café is their home, their territory. In the morning, people are back to take care of them.
15 What about hygiene?
+
The veterinary office inspects us regularly. No cat — and not a single cat hair — ever enters the kitchen area. Promised.
16 Why always the same cats? Can I adopt one?
+
Our family has known each other for years — they all smell the same, they all trust each other. Changing the line-up means stress for the crew and is bound by official requirements. The family stays together as long as we can keep it that way.
17 Can I order cat hair on my cake?
+
On request, we'll get right on it. 😉
